Moving In....

With much trepidation we have officially started living in the middle of a construction zone! The house has come a long way, but is barely habitable. Our biggest issue at this point is that our family of four is sharing a coat closet and one kids closet. It is always and adventure trying to find something to wear. Countertops were installed and Jenny is in love with her bathroom countertop. Brick is here as well....

Getting Closer

The drywall is in the works, POD and appliances have been delivered, doors installed, etc. We also suffered our first setback with the recent snow. I went over to the house at lunch only to discover the dining room ceiling had partially collapsed due to the roof not being sealed!! The hardwood has some damage as well. Contractor admitted it was his fault and has started to fix it. We are moving in this weekend and the house is nowhere near move in ready. A lot is being accomplished this week, so hopefully things will be better!

We have a hole!

Starting to see a little progress on the addition.

Kids Bathroom

We put in a lot of work in the kids bathroom while waiting for the permit and a good day to dig the foundation hole.

Dirty House

So I spent the last 3 weeks in the bathroom removing the tile and 3" plaster.  I would estimate the amount of plaster/cement I removed would total 600 + lbs.  The house is now incredibly dirty and looks like a disaster.  On the bright side, they have started framing for the drywall so the inside should start cleaning up soon.  The City of Denver will also be providing us with permit tomorrow! (Feb 10th....I am about a month beind on updating this!)  Let the digging begin....

After returning home from  our Christmas in NM, we discovered that the project had actually begun!  The wall seperating the living room and dining room has been demolished.  This has made a huge impact as you can now see all the way into the backyard when entering the house.  Here are the before and after shots:
